Just a quick word today on Psyllium

Those taking psyllium need to know that it is reported that the intake of psyllium decreases the absorption of Calcium, Magnesium, Copper, and Zinc – all of which are essential to addressing OP. This may be true of other “high fiber” herbs/foods.

Psyllium is not the ideal solution for many of the conditions for which it is recommended. Other herbs and homeopathy can offer effective results without hindering mineral absorption. 1

Another negative effect of psyllium is that it dilutes digestive enzymes. 2

If you are taking or have been told to take psyllium, you may contact me for alternatives.

  1. Hi Douglas, my daughter is taking psyllium husk for gut health as she is taking a PPI medication which she is trying to come off. What would be a better alternative to psyliium?

    1. Did I get a reply to you yet? I was thinking I answered this via email. I have solutions but it will depend on why it’s being used. I have an article for diarrhea and one for constipation; each has their own set of solutions. Some may be the same but some are different. You can find these on my blog site or you can find them linked in the New FILES in the OP group GUIDES

      1. This was my first reply from you and thank you very much for getting back to me. My daughter has been taking the PPI medication because of acid reflux caused by a hiatal hernia. Without the medication, the acid reflux has been severe.
