Are You Overdoing Supplements and Finding It is Costing You More Than It Should?

I fear far too many are still attempting to get all their nutrition from supplements and not paying attention to what they get from their food/diet first.

The rule is sunshine first for vitamin D, then food (ONLY), and for everything else, food first, then supplement only what you lack each day, except vitamin D and calcium, which should be supplemented ONLY if deficient.

For example: If you supplement all 38 mg of zinc, or 15-20 mg of collagen, or 350-500 mg of magnesium a day without first knowing how much you got from food, you are in error.

There is a nutrition tracker linked in the GUIDES of the Naturally Better Bones OP group just for this reason. This way you can see how much of the nutrients you are getting that are needed, and then supplement the “difference” that is lacking.

If you are not sure how much is needed, you can find this in the ‘available pages’ in the first chapter of “Opening the Doors to Reversing and Healing Osteoporosis” or in the Supplements for Osteoporosis, also part of the ‘available pages’ and in the GUIDES of the group page.

Many have shared that it is a challenge to afford all the supplements but are not applying the basic rule of thumb for them. Diet/food/sunshine first, then supplement what lacks and only what lacks in most cases. A few nutrients, such as vitamin C, don’t cause issues in getting more than what is needed. Some do, and some nutrients should not be obtained in amounts more than the RDA or at least the UL (Upper Limit), or it can lead to more medical/health conditions. You will find it easier and more affordable to follow this rule.

Please do yourselves a favor and keep it more affordable. While health and healing are complex and can be costly, the cost of ill health is far greater. Keep it all more affordable by following this basic rule, and all will go better for you.
